Doula Den Haag and Great Expectations.nl have teamed up to organise the First Baby Fair Den Haag. Their aim is to provide a one-stop information shop for pregnant parents and families with young children. Entrance to the fair is FREE of charge.
There has been so much negative press surrounding birth in this country, that the organisers felt it was about time actually to ‘celebrate birthing and parenting’ in The Netherlands and to introduce Dutch and Expat parents alike to the great variety of possibilities on offer in and around The Hague to prepare people for the transition to ‘family life’. The Baby Fair Den Haag offers a unique opportunity to gather all the information needed to make informed choices about birthing, and raising children in The Hague.
Among the service providers for expectant parents and parents of young children who will be present at the fair are: childbirth educators, yoga instructors, midwives, doulas, birth clinics, kraamzorg, lactation consultants, daycare centres, parent and baby groups and providers of complimentary therapies. One morning, one place, all the options and the opportunity to ask questions, view demonstrations, make decisions. There will be an ongoing, interactive programme featuring: baby massage, cranial osteopathy for babies, Reiki in pregnancy, courses on how to stimulate your baby’s development and lots more.
To conclude, or in between sessions, participants are invited to enjoy English scones and Dutch coffee in the catering corner, as well as pick up a few bargains at the nearly-new sale of children’s clothes and toys. Proceeds of the sale will be donated to the Juliana Kinderziekenhuis.

Doula Den Haag en Great Expectations.nl hebben hun krachten gebundeld in het organiseren van de eerste Baby Fair Den Haag. Deze informatieve beurs richt zich op aanstaande ouders en jonge gezinnen. De toegang is GRATIS.
Na alle kritische berichtgeving over de kwaliteit van de zorg in Nederland, vinden de organisatoren het hoog tijd om juist zwangerschap, bevalling en ouderschap in dit land te vieren. Er is werkelijk zoveel keus aan baby-gerelateerde diensten en producten in Den Haag en omstreken, er is zoveel hulp te krijgen en er zijn zoveel mogelijkheden. We hebben hier echt alles in huis, voor Expats en voor Nederlanders, om de voorbereidingen op het ouderschap te vergemakkelijken. Baby Fair Den Haag biedt een unieke gelegenheid om hierover op 1 dag en op 1 plek alle relevante informatie te verzamelen en vragen te stellen aan de aanwezige experts.
Onder de dienstverleners op de beurs bevinden zich aanbieders van verschillende soorten zwangerschapscursussen, doula’s, verloskundigen, kraamzorg, lactatiekundigen, kinderopvang, speelgroepen voor ouder en baby en aanbieders van alternatieve therapieën voor moeder en kind.
Tijdens de beurs worden uiteenlopende demonstraties en presentaties gegeven, zoals baby massage, Reiki, EHBO, speel- en ontwikkelactiviteiten voor babies, homeopathie en acupuntuur.
In de koffiehoek kunt u genieten van allerlei Engelse lekkernijen. Voor de shop-a-holic is er een markt met tweedehands babykleertjes en speelgoed. De opbrengsten hiervan worden geschonken aan het Juliana Kinderziekenhuis.
